The Pink Lady’s are always my first choice when apple season arrives. I love to eat a tart apple anytime of day. Now that fall is here it’s the perfect time to make a pie or crisp. I’ve altered this recipe and added orange rind and brandy.
Pink Lady Apple Crisp
Combine together the following ingredients for the filling:
3 pounds Pink Lady Apples, peeled, cored and cut into ½-inch pieces
Zest of an orange
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Combine the following ingredients together for the topping:
1-cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup almond granola
1/2-cup brown sugar
Pinch of salt
6 tablespoons cold butter
1/4 cup toasted and chopped almonds
Place apples in 9 inch round baking dish, sprinkle crumb topping on top and bake for 60 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
