I’ve posted this recipe in the past but wanted to make sure you consider it for Thanksgiving this year. It’s simple to make and a great accompaniment to the holiday table.

Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry Brandy Sauce

1 pound fresh cranberries, rinsed
Zest of 1 orange
Juice of 3 oranges
¼ cup water
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/3-cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons brandy or cognac

In a medium saucepan, heat ¼ cup water with the orange zest, orange juice, brown sugar and maple syrup over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the cranberries and brandy and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the cranberries burst and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 15 minutes. Let the sauce cool to room temperature before serving.
